In 2009 Vancouver City declared January 5 th International Spruce Day. On  International Spruce Day, January 5 each year, we give back to the environment by planting a tree.  This can be your Christmas tree or a tree purchased from one of the many reforestation organisations providing native trees for wildlife habitat, fruit and nut trees for food in impoverished nations or trees to green cities.  We would like to see International Spruce Day as a day of giving back to Nature.
